Prolific television powerhouse Ryan Murphy - the force behind hit shows like "American Horror Story" and "Pose," as well as the new Netflix retro-drama "Hollywood" and the returning Netflix series "The Politician" - revealed in an article he penned for Architectural Digest that he and his husband, David Miller, are growing their family. The couple expects their third son to be born in August.

The news made international headlines. UK newspaper The Independent reported took note that Murphy and Miller's two older children - both sons, seven-year-old Logan and five-year-old Ford - arrived via surrogacy.

The new child will also be a boy, news reports said.

Murphy reflected int he Architectural Digest essay on how his children influenced his decisions when it came to home decorating, noted the :

"Our boys are half Swedish, so we wanted to pay homage to that heritage, too, with the furnishings and the delicate pottery."

Murphy looked back on his childhood experience of deciding how to decorate his bedroom. Recalling that his upbringing, in Indiana, was dominated by "blah/beige," Murphy wrote:

I decided to buck the bland and go bold: olive-green walls, chocolate-brown shag carpeting — and a gold disco ball."

The Independent pointed out that the new addition to the family is expected to arrive in August - just as Murphy and Miller mark the first anniversary of Ford's triumph over childhood cancer.

Ford had been diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer at the age of two, but following successful treatment, he was declared cancer-free.
