Rudy Giuliani is claiming that a cringe-worthy scene of himself and an actress playing Sacha Baron Cohen's daughter in the actor's new Borat satire (out tomorrow on Amazon Prime) is a "a scheme to discredit his recent attempts to push corruption accusations against Joseph R. Biden Jr.'s son Hunter Biden." reports the New York Times.

He made the claim on a phone call yesterday with the radio station WABC. He later tweeted that the sequence is a "complete fabrication."

"At no time before, during, or after the interview was I ever inappropriate. If Sacha Baron Cohen implies otherwise he is a stone-cold liar," he wrote.

The clip shows Giuliani being interviewed by Maria Bakalova, the Bulgarian actress who impersonates a news reporter and interviews Giuliani in her hotel room last January. The sequence begins with the two having a flirty conversation with Bakalova pushing boundaries by touching the 76-year old former New York City mayor on his leg. He also humors her by saying that he would eat a bat in response to a question about COVID-19.

Things get more interesting when the pair retire to the bedroom where Giuliani lies down on the bed and reaches into his pants. "After she removes his microphone, Giuliani, 76, can be seen lying back on the bed, fiddling with his untucked shirt and reaching into his trousers. They are then interrupted by Borat who runs in and says: 'She's 15. She's too old for you," reports the Guardian.

Representatives for Giuliani have not replied to the Guardian's requests for comment, but in July he told the New York Post, he told the New York Post.

"This guy comes running in, wearing a crazy, what I would say was a pink transgender outfit. It was a pink bikini, with lace, underneath a translucent mesh top, it looked absurd. He had the beard, bare legs, and wasn't what I would call distractingly attractive."

In the film, the Daily Beast reports, Borat shouts, "Put down your chram!"—his preferred word for penis. "She's 15! She's too old for you!"

I thought this must be a scam or a shake-down," Giuliani said according to the Daily Beast. He called the police, but Cohen was gone before they arrived and they concluded no crime took place. "I only later realized it must have been Sacha Baron Cohen. I thought about all the people he previously fooled and I felt good about myself because he didn't get me," Giuliani said.

"Speaking to WABC radio that same month," the Daily Beast writes: "Giuliani admitted that Baron Cohen was trying to capture him in a 'compromising' situation. But when he was asked if he did anything that he might be 'regretful' about, he replied, 'I don't think so, I'm trying to remember.'"

Twitter, though, wasn't having any of Giuliani's explanations:
