YouTube star and actor Eugene Lee Yang came out as gay over the weekend, sharing a video called "I'm Gay."

Yang, best known for being a member of BuzzFeed's "The Try Guys," wrote, directed and choreographed the video, set to music by Odessa. "RuPaul's Drag Race" stars Kim Chi and Mayhem Miller also appear in the video, which has earned over 6.5 million views since being posted to YouTube on June 15.

Taking to Twitter, Yang, 33, opened up about the video.

"I created this music video as my personal way of coming out as a proud gay man who has many unheard, specific stories to tell," he tweeted. "I withheld because of fear and shame shaped by my background but I promise to give my full truth in the rest of my life's work."

He also linked the video to a fundraiser for the Trevor Project, saying he wants "to help save LGBTQ+ lives. Coming out is a lifelong process—your safety always comes first—but know that there's a vibrant community waiting to welcome you with open arms."
