Alan Cumming :: Comes To the Cabaret

JC Alvarez READ TIME: 2 MIN.

The fabric of New York City nightlife has been irrevocably altered for fans of the cabaret club scene. With countless venues going up all over the city and a multitude of notable talents making great gains and momentum due to the popularized return of live performances, audiences are flocking to standing room only spaces to catch their favorite live acts in all their splendor.

This weekend the cabaret comes alive for a "one night only" appearance from one of its most cherished and celebrated talents. The Tony Award winning and Emmy nominated Alan Cumming will be claiming the stage on 42nd Street's newest hot spot: THE OUT NYC's XL Nightclub & Cabaret on Saturday, March 17 @ 8pm. Cumming is expected to perform songs from his own signature repertoire and perhaps favorites from the Broadway smash "Cabaret".

Audiences who filled the Metropolitan Room to catch sexy song-man Tom Judson's recent act were treated to a preview of Cumming's own stage antics. "Alan and I were both in Cabaret on Broadway," Judson told us. "He appeared with me because he's a friend and I sing his song 'Next To Me' (music by Lance Horne) in my show." You can expect Cumming to sing "All I Know" (by Jimmy Webb) from his CD release "I Bought A New Blue Car Today" when he performs on Saturday night.

This "one night only" special engagement on March 17, will benefit the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission - an organization dedicated to tireless front-line efforts to promote LGBT rights on a global level.

For tickets to see Alan Cumming Live! visit www.xlcaberet.com. Show begins at 8pm, seating is open to the public at 6:30pm. Arrive early and stay for the return of DJ Tracy Young who will be laying the beats on New York's Largest Gay Dance Party.

XL Nightclub & Cabaret is located at 512 West 42nd Street between 10 and 11 Avenues.
